The Association of Mountaineering Instructors AMI is the representative body for professionally qualified Mountaineering Instructors in the UK and Ireland. AMI is committed to promoting good practice in all mountaineering instruction. Members using the AMI logo use staff qualified to the appropriate level for mountain activities being instructed. Stuart and other staff employed are members.
The Institute for Outdoor Learning encourages outdoor learning by developing quality, safety and opportunity to experience outdoor activity provision and by supporting the good practice of outdoor professionals. By representing and lobbying on behalf of our members, we can help ensure the development and progression of outdoor learning. All staff we employ are IOL members.
Mountain Ttaining Association is managed by Mountain Training and provides support and development opportunities for all candidates and holders of the Mountain Training Awards. Full members hold at least one of the following awards: ML, SPA, WGL, CWA and CWLA. Staff employed by Stuart to deliver mountain activities are members of MTA.
MT Mountain Training – Stuart is a course provider for the Mountain Training Climbing Wall Award CWA, Single Pitch Award SPA, Lowland Leader Award, Hill and Moolrland Leader Award and the Summer Mountain Leader SML.
Is the governing body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking in the United Kingdom, represents the interests of canoeists at local, national and international level.
British Orienteering the governing body for the United Kingdom. Stuart delivers the Teaching Orienteering Part 1 and 2 course. He is also able to deliver the British Orienteeting UKCC Coach awards.
AoFA First Aid Ltd is an awarding body that develops qualifications and approves, supports and verifies AoFA Providers and Centres delivering tailored first aid training to all sectors. Alan Sherliker delivers the AoFA course for Stuart and Alternative Adventure and Outdoor Activities Service.
National Navigation Award Scheme - learn navigation skills and gain confidence to get out and enjoy the countryside. Stuart and staff are course tutors and assessors for the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. We also deliver the Young Naigator Award.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award the DofE gives all young people the chance to develop skills for work and life, fulfill their potential and have a brighter future. Alternative Adventure and Outdoor Activities Service delivers the expedition section of the award to schools, colleges and your organisations.
Adventure activities licensing ensures that activity providers follow good safety management practices.
The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) is the representative body that exists to protect the freedoms and promote the interests of climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers, including ski-mountaineers. Staff employed by Stuart to deliver mountain activities are BMC Members.
